How will KneeKG™ System help me?

The KneeKGTM or Knee Kinematic Graphic is a triplanar exam that provides a visual model of the functional state of the joint.

Results are presented into an easy-to-read, complete report explaining the areas of clinical significance.

The KneeKG™ exam may help patients and their physician:

  1. to gain an understanding of their knee pathology or injury and how to manage it
  2. better understand the cause of their symptoms
  3. to monitor and keep an eye on their joint
  4. to get reassurance for their concerns about knee pain or stability
  5. to work towards functional recovery post-injury and make a full return to their previous activity performance level
  6. to get the information they need to become active participants in the treatment process.

The advantages of the KneeKG™ exam

    KneeKG

General

  • Precise recording of the motion signature of the knee in 3 planes: sagittal, frontal and transverse.

Bones

  • Assessment of complex movement of the femur and tibia (rotations, translations, speed, acceleration, etc.).

Ligaments, meniscuses, tendons

  • Dynamic assessment of the impact of the structural impairment to ligaments, meniscuses or tendons on the joint mechanics of the knee.

Cartilage

  • Assessment of the impact of pain, stiffness and functional limitations.

Mobility

  • Assessment of joint coordination and the arc of movement during different functional tasks.

Monitoring and quantification of prescribed treatment

  • Assessment of the impact of a specific treatment (physiotherapy, surgery, medication) on the 3D biomechanics of the knee.

  • Recording of the 3D biomechanics of the healthy knee to determine and assess the impact of an injury. This helps health professionals better direct the treatment plan.
